No Longer A Rumor! PC Gaming Alliance Of ...

PC Gaming Alliance Officially Announced, Here To Save The Day The PC Gaming Alliance is real. It was just announced at GDC, and comprises not only the rumoured Intel, Nvidia, AMD/ATi and Microsoft (along with Alienware, Dell, ACER and Gateway), but publishing giants Epic and Activision as well.''One of our main major objectives is to provide one voice on PC gaming market. There's no one source that says 'hey this is where the PC market is going'. Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft are always calling their market share - we're going to call our market through this group.''No Longer A Rumor! PC Gaming Alliance Of ...
I have no idea what the function is, but it certainly has an impressive list of corporations on the list. No Longer A Rumor! PC Gaming Alliance Of ...
I have no idea what the function is, but it certainly has an impressive list of corporations on the list.
I think its like a first party for PC gaming....but its kind of hard to take them seriously when Valve, the staple PC dev. isnt on their, and they call themselves a PC gaming ''aliance''
Surprised Epic is on that list, after the whole CliffyB PC statement.
I have no idea what the function is, but it certainly has an impressive list of corporations on the list.
I second that..that list has all the top players in the markets in it. I hope that together they can bring back PC gamming to what it once was. I for one would love to see some sort of joint cooperation between XBL and online PC gamming. Microsoft probably has similar plans too..good for us I say.
EPIC?I thought they declared themselves a console dev, or was that just Cliffy B...
its just to give a voice to pc gaming, like the guy says. its easy for microsoft, sony or ninendo to boast sales and game exclusives, the ''PC'' usually doesnt get a chance to boast such things (even though it usually is the frontrunner on technology, gameplay and game design) because its an open market and nobody speaks for it.
I know Blizzard and Activision merged, but Blizzard should be the head of that ''Alliance,'' considering they have the best PC games out there.

Seems reports of the death of PC gaming have been greatly exaggerated!http://www.developmag.com/news/29331/The-PC-market-is-not-dying-says-newly-formed-PC-Gaming-Alliance
Surprised Epic is on that list, after the whole CliffyB PC statement.
Epic is like an undecided suicide jumper.
Okay, now what is the purpose of this alliance? I doubt it will be to simply sing the PC's praises. Personally, I don't like the idea of companies like MS and Epic telling the gaming community where it's going. We've seen where'd they'd like to take it with this whole gaming for Windows fiasco (including trying to charge for online play in some cases) and I'd say the PC community's answer was a resounding ''GTFO''!!!Also, it's hard to take a PC gaming alliance seriously with the likes of Dell and Gateway counted among their numbers. What exactly will they contribute (I mean other then more overpriced, poorly built PC's). Finally, where is Valve in all this. Strange that the creators and backers of Steam aren't on this list seeing as they enjoy extremely strong support from the PC community.

We will see what the future holds
This is kinda funny considering that there are only two developers on that list.

:lol:Oh god the irony! Microsoft coming in too what? Use Games for Windows Live to help support the PC gaming scene? LOL

And what about our good friends at Epic that just announced that they were going to try to exclusively make games for the consoles?

Cool. I really hope PC gaming gets tons of its exclusives back, Hitman and Rainbow Six on PC = Pwnage.
